[edit] Rise of the Machanites

  • 1 – 400 WP "The Wandering Period": Nomadic Machanite tribes are forced south from the Haarkan steppes during a period of extreme climatic change. After centuries of southward movement, they vie with the native Tambians for control of the fertile Tambar River Valley region. The Machanite tribes of Malkas and Estias rise to prominence.
  • 1 – 250 MP (Malkan Period): Development of agriculture increases along the Tambar River Valley. Ghiran Malkas rises to power as the first tribal king of the Malkas establishing the city-state of Malka. Within 5 years (c. 137 MP), Estians found city-state of Estia. Conquest of Tambar region by Malkans begins; Tambians are finally subjugated (143 MP). Over the next few decades, rising tension leads to overt civil war against rival Estians by year 193.
  • 252 MP: Malkans routed by Estians at Battle of Sharda; city of Malka partially razed. Begin an eight year period of rule by an Estian king.
  • 261 MP: Rathas Kirak leads revolt against Estians with only partial success, but gaining momentum enough for the Estian Royal Guard to mobilize in response, taking to the field on the next Spring melt.
  • 262 MP: Battle of Neshar ends Estian rule over the northern valley region. Estias destroyed. Estian survivors flee eastward across the Deshir Mountains to form a new kingdom (Aseti). Rathas Kira becomes the first Malkan king.


[edit] Malkan Kingdom I Period

  • 1 – 260 MKI: First Kingdom established. Begins a 300 year period of Malkan growth and conquest. Rise of the magical and military classes. Clashes with the new Aseti kingdom along the eastern border. Initial contact with coastal kingdom of Parath to the south. The first of the Orc Wars begin against the Iron Land Tribes to the north and the Red Tide Orcs above the Dess River.
  • 260 – 264 MKI: War of the Orders. Religious persecution of magical sects. Widespread conflict throughout the kingdom. Ends in the Magister Accords establishing co-equal existence of both traditions. Temple of Ordilum Schism—magical traditionalists leave the kingdom for the south.


[edit] The Expansion War Period

  • 269 – 289 MKI: Malkan expansion reaches the Talas Mountains. Clashes with Aseti to the east and Parathia to the south.
  • 290 – 300 MKI: First Aseti War (Aseti 1st Empire). Ends with the Truce of Tarkas after seven years of bloody stalemate. Establishment of official borders.


[edit] Malkan Kingdom II Period

  • 1 – 51 MKII: Golden Reign of King Harkaan I of the Harkaan tribe. Expansion of the Kingdom by Lord General Hylles Pozak of the Army of the West into the bordering the Kingdom of Benecia: Battle of Weirmalk (46 MKII) and Battle of Clavinon (47 MKII).
  • 81 MKII: After 30 years of war, where both, sides are unable to gain a clear advantage, the Treaty of Sarphur ends the First Parathian War. Intermittent conflict would go on until 110 MKII.
  • 61 – 97 MKII: The rise to power of Lord Draeth in Vistav. Forming of the Orc Iron Legion in Norag. The Demon War against Lord Draeth begins (70 – 74 MKII). Battle of the Plains of the Wolf (74 MKII) ends with Draeth's Orc and Undead forces in defeat. War against the Vampire King Artreus of Gostia (90 – 93 MKII). Second Orc War against the Norag and Vistav (95 - 97 MKII).
  • 97 MKII: Death of King Harkaan II. Prince Phedan assumes throne and takes the name of King Harkaan III. Rise of the great military clans: Kardonas (Dragon Rampant) and Tiranas (Wolf Salient) become predominant. Among the ruling elite, dueling becomes a fashionable way to settle disputes of clan and family honor. Among the lower classes, dueling becomes a popular blood sport. The first dueling halls are created.
  • 110 MKII: King Harkaan III initiates the Second Parathian War by invading the coastal Parathian cities.
  • 110 – 117 MKII: Defeats King Atrieus Gerias III and his Parathians at the battle of Parath Korr. Incorporates the coastal-island city states into the kingdom.
  • 200 MKII: Harkaan III proclaims the Empire of Machan. Takes the title of Emperor Rathas Machanas I. Moves the Imperial Capital south to Rathas (Paratha) and marries the Parathian king’s widowed queen Ophiris. Beginning of the Rathas/Parathian - Machanas imperial bloodline.
  • 200 MKII: Prince Arkiras of Rathas, son of Queen Ophiris, is killed in a duel. Emperor Machanas I makes dueling among the nobility illegal. The Arkiras Dueling Prohibition gives rise to the use of the kage-musa effect among those nobles who became know as "Shadow Fighters" - those who duel behind a projected cloak of anonymity.

  • 1 – 60 ME: The First Khronus Pirate War (25 – 30 ME). The Felshian War (26 - 45 ME). Death of Machanas I (45 ME). Machan Rathas I crowned (45 ME – 75 ME). Conquest of Southern Gostia and the Kingdom of Darias (44 – 58 ME). The Second Khronus Pirate War (60 ME).
  • 78 – 1515 ME: The Great War between Machan and Aseti 2nd Empire ("The Thousand Years War") begins.
  • 78 – 140 ME: First battles fought on the continent of Phyrras. Aseti invasion of the Southern Reaches (102 ME). Battles of the Wasteland (102 - 105 ME). Battle of the Mera Sea (110 ME). The Siege of Machas (119 – 122 ME). The Burning of Asetia (134 ME). The Machanite Peasant’s War (136 – 140 ME).
  • 135 – 200 ME: The Truce of Timbar (135 – 200 ME) ends the war for 65 years. The Parathian Revolt (136 – 138 ME). The Darian Revolt (140 – 144 ME). The Truce of Timbar is broken and war against Asetia resumes in 200 ME.


[edit] The Second Imperial Age

  • 200 – 461 ME: Emperor Tallus Machanas I declares the Second Imperial Age. By 300 ME the war against Aseti has grown into another stalemate with intermittent clashes taking place on land and sea. Conquest of Tarkas (310 - 313 ME). Conquest of Northern Aangeloras (389 – 400 ME). Conquest of western Phyrras (450 - 461 ME). Aseti declares 3rd Empire under Emperor Madarus Asetium II.
  • 461 – 724 ME: The Succession Wars/Era of the False Emperors – after Emperor Tallus Machanas I dies without a named heir, a series of civil wars between the Imperial Northern House of Machanas and the Imperial Southern House of Rathas erupts over the rightful control of the empire. Thirty-five Emperors of both houses are crowned over a period of 250 years. The Asetians take full advantage of the turmoil and seize much of the northeastern half of the empire in 500 ME. They are prevented from total victory only because of an on-going conflict with the island kingdom of Halkona (Dawnward Islands). For those in the conquered eastern provinces the next 300 years begins what has come to be known as "The Sorrows." The final triumph of the Imperial House of Machanas in 722 ME returns the throne to its bloodline under Emperor Machanas III . Imperial Capital moved back north to Machan in 724 ME. The next 150 years sees some of the most savage and desperate fighting as the Machanites attempt to drive the Aseti invaders from the eastern provinces. In 800 ME, the Asetians are finally pushed back across the Deshir Mountains after the Battle of Groemel.
  • 998 ME: The High Priest of the Ordilum Sacrantas, with the support of the powerful southern military clan Kardonas, discovers a mystical energy that, if harnessed and controlled, could become a weapon of great power. By the time of the Battle of the Plains of Phyrras, they would be ready to end the war and bring the world under the control of the rightful Machanite emperor.
  • 1000 ME: Battle of the Plains of Phyrras. Destruction of Phyrras and much of the world by a weapon of unimaginable power (The Weapon of Phyrras).
  • 1000 - 1290 ME: It is the beginning of the Age of Darkness. Both empires plunged into chaos that would last nearly 300 years. The entire world is shielded by a persistent sphere of energy that has effectively cloaked its presence from the rest of the universe. Emperor Gradinor Machan, known as the "Unifier," re-establishes the Machanite Empire in 1294 ME. A similar unification is established in Aseti in 1300 ME by Emperor Illystria Asentium ("Rising Brightness").
  • 1290 - 1300 ME: The re-unification of the Empires.
  • 1350 ME: Discovery of Phyrra Nexus—the multi-dimensional anomaly created by the Machanite weapon. The means to harness and control this nexus begins.
  • 400 ME: Discovery of Yumera, city of the Lost Empire of Yumeria, within a vortex in the Phyrran Sea]].
  • 1450 ME: The establishment of the Gateways to control bi-directional access to the anomaly and the creation of the City of Phyrra under joint Machan and Aseti Archons.


[edit] The Age of Phyrra

  • 1 – 250 AP: With the discovery of Phyrra and under the benevolent rule of Emperor Frontanus Hull and his heirs, the Age of Phyrra begins. Both empires begin to recover. Rediscovery of art, culture, science and magic. Phyrran Seekers make the dangerous journey to a multitude of worlds in search of the perfect fighters.
  • 250 AP – Present: Development of Phyrra as the "City of Duels." Creation of the city as a Protectorate under both Aseti and Machan Archons.
