Scrolls are single use items that you can use against your opponent or on yourself. Think of them as one time use skills (also known as consumables).
Once you use a scroll in battle it is destroyed.
Scrolls can only be used for challenges, not for skirmishes, and only one scroll per combatant and challenge. When a challenge is rejected, any scroll that was going to be used in that battle is returned to your inventory.
Scrolls can be obtained by purchasing packs with tokens or by exchanging Challenge Coins. Scrolls may not be sold for gold or traded. You will be seeing a lot of scrolls in high-level play, so it's suggested that you have a good amount at any given time.
The Path of the Staff skill Scribe can be used to increase the effectiveness and duration of scrolls.

These scrolls' purpose is quite plain: damaging against your opponent. Since scroll damage does not depend on your or your opponent's level, these are very efficient in early levels when they can win a battle by themselves, but tend to become useless at higher levels but remember to always check the the effects of the scroll before use, their isn't much point in using a powerfull for an less equal apponent or using a less powerfull scroll on an apponent greater than you.
