The Path (beginning at Level 5) you take will define and shape your abilities and strategies from then on. If you prefer using a sword and being able to more damage, pick the Path of the Sword... but if you prefer using a staff (and maces) along with powerful scrolls, pick path of the staff. Once you proceed down a Path, you may choose to develop different Skills that provide various offensive and defensive capabilities for your avatar.
These basic paths feature Skills that are always on. This means that your avatar does not need to think about using them - once they have been learned they will always be active. They may require action to set-up though. For example, if you learn Dual Wield you will need to add a weapon to your off-hand slot in your loadouts.
High Paths, which become available at Level 20, allow you to begin selecting Openers.

You can either wield two weapons at once for maximum damage at the cost of defense, or chose to equip a shield and have a more balanced character. Available High Path choices at level 20 are: [edit] Path of the StaffYou have chosen the path of magic and mysticism. This is a slightly more dangerous and difficult path to start out with, because you must sacrifice the use of many weapons and armor. It is also more challenging because the ones that choose the path of the sword grow more powerful with swords and strength, while you are stuck with a staff and, possibly, a wand. But as your training grows your proficiency with spells gives you powerful means to do dramatic damage to your opponents, heal yourself, tighten your defense and increase your attack. [edit] Choosing your PathTo choose your path (after reaching level 5) click Skills on the left side bar under your avatar. From there you should be able to invest a skill point into the Path of the Sword or the Path of the Staff. Skill point placement is permanent with exceptions to Challenge Coins so choose your path wisely. [edit]
