As you are on the way home from a duel, you see an old man coughing up blood on the road. An old lady runs up to him and helps him into a nearby house. An odd event to see on the way home, you wonder if the old man will be alright.

You are almost home when you run across a young lady covered in a veil. You stand back and watch her drink from a well. She uncovers her face to reveal what appears to be a flesh eating wound. It has begun to spread down her face and onto her neck. You do not want to let her notice you watching so you walk off. As you do, you are stopped a small boy who begins to ask you a question.

"Hello, I was wondering if you took a look at those two people in pain. Would you end their pain if you could? If so, I have a task for you. "

You accept his offer and want to help end their pain.

"I am glad you wish to help these people in pain. Here, take this ring." You hold out your hand.

"This ring holds a special power that will reveal itself to you when the time is right." You notice a little inscription inside that reads, “Htaed Fo Regnessem”.

You begin to ponder its meaning until you are interrupted by the young boy. "Now it is time to determine who you will help. Will it be the old man or the young lady? Whose pain will cease, whose life will become painless? Make your decision but remember it is final."

The boy vanishes into the shadows...
