Detective Trublade reaches into his breastplate and produces a small, wooden figure, featureless but for a lens where its head should be. He carries it over to the body and sets it next to a puddle of blood. The tiny figure trembles and begins to move. It stands upright and walks toward the victim. It jumps onto the hanging body and climbs upward, running its head a few inches from the surface of Adehgah's tattered clothing. The Detective stares at the gruesome scene, the look of a proud papa on his mustachioed face.
"That's my little Doc," the tiny figure's wooden hand folds back and a small saw emerges from the stump, "he should be done in just a minute."
[edit] Act 1 - Examine the Body
After several minutes of poking, cutting and sampling, the little wooden Doc climbs down and returns to the Detective. It reaches up toward his ear and you can hear its tiny chirping voice as it whispers to the Detective, who is nodding, brow furrowed. When it has finished, the Doc climbs back into Trublade's breastplate.
"The victim was killed by a blow to the head with a large metal object. This two-handed war hammer was found near the victim. It would take a large individual to use something like that." You lean down to look at the hammer. Flakes of green skin can be seen on the handle.
"Indeed. Whoever used this hammer has green skin. Gods... We are running out of time. Let's go talk to the suspects."
You stand before the three suspects as Detective Trublade reads from a large bit of parchment. He points to an enormous ogre, who is glaring up at you.
"This big brute is named Boadie. 7' 4" tall. 354 pounds. Eyes: Yellow. Skin: Grey. Criminal record: Arrested last year for public intoxication and assault with a farm animal... Joined the restoration project this month, working the night shift, carrying stone." The Detective moves on to the orc, who is staring at the ground.
Name: Krunk. 6'7" tall. 275 pounds. Eyes: Black. Skin: Green. Arrived last month with the rest of the Flamehammer tribe to assist with construction. Works the day shift." Finally, the Detective stops in front of the goblin.
"Name: Keezy. 3' 4" tall. 85 pounds. Eyes: Green. Skin: Green. A merchant, he owns a cart that sells food to the workers here. Was in the process of closing shop for the day when it happened."
"These three were the only ones at the scene of the crime. It has to be one of them. I think we have enough evidence to figure this out. What do you think?"
