You are standing atop the Dream Tower, surrounded by the lush greenery of the Orzayan Dream World. High above, the leathery birds the Orzayans call Pterodactyls glide in lazy, ominous circles. General Kahzlt is pacing, his talons making harsh, clicking noises on the rough stone.
"We are holding the tide of darkness at bay, but barely. These Shadow Fiends will not be held off for long." As the General speaks, Grol Flamehammer, the blind orc shaman approaches the General and whispers in his ear.
"The Shadow Priest Fazan has given his own wretched life. Now the Shadow can penetrate the dreams of all Phyrran citizens not only the small minded... orcs..." He looks at Grol and gives the closest thing that a beak will allow to an accommodating smile.
"The point is, we must enter the sleeping minds of Phyrra and save them from this incursion. The nightmare ends now!"
[edit] Act 1 - What Dreams May Come
You are standing on top of the Dream Tower with Kahzlt. At the foot of the Tower, a sea of Dream Warriors stretches to the pink horizon.
"It is easy to scoff at dreams. The rules here are fluid, without the hard logic and cold pragmatism of the 'real' world. It is easier and more comfortable to dismiss dreams as minor trifles, mere distractions from hard reality. But it is here, in dreams, that we find inspiration and discover our inner selves. Behind the fluid logic and esoteric symbols lie truths so deep we cannot bear to face them and brilliance obscured in the waking light of day. Every achievement of the sentient beings, from the greatest works of beauty to the foulest acts of evil traces its roots to this world. To corrupt our dreams is to corrupt the very fabric of what we are."
"Our friends, the Flamehammer, discovered this first-hand. Their first step into the world of dreams was tainted by shadow and, while this is sad, it has given us the means by which to finally rid the dream world of this corruption. Because of his unfortunate connection, we can use our Flamehammer brethren to track down and cleanse these tainted nightmares. Now, each of you, close your eyes..."

[edit] Act 2 - Once Upon a Time
Even as you strike your final blow, the Shadow Warrior has begun to change. Its face stretches and thick, greasy hair grows from its cheeks. It looks at you with the yellow eyes of a wolf.
The little elven girl screams, "wha-what big teeth you have!" and runs off, the Shadow Wolf nipping at her heels.

[edit] Act 3 - It Was the Woods Themselves...
The ground shakes as the wolf falls to the ground and blows away in a maelstrom of acrid dust. The cottage falls to the ground, revealing the elven girl and three very frightened looking pigs, who depart in their own maelstrom of terrified squeals.
The dust flies into the surrounding trees, which bubble and creak, as if infected from within. With sudden, brutal force, a branch lashes out and tries to grab you.
