[edit] Intro

You draw your weapon and approach Fazar...

[edit] Act 1 - Shine a Light

The Orzayan Leader thrashes under the point of the scythe. With a flash, you draw your weapon and knock the Shadow Priest backward. Even obscured, you can sense the expression of shock on its face.

"What a pity. You showed such promise. But you have no taste for power. And I have no time for such naivete."

[edit] Act 2 - The Dream Tower

Fazar is on his knees, thick black fluid pouring from his downturned hood. Before you can strike the final blow he hisses at you, opens a portal and leaps through. The gate snaps shut behind him. The Orzayan Leader stands and limps toward you.

"I sensed that there was good in you. If we are to defeat this dark menace, we will need more warriors you're your conviction and purity of spirit. My name is General Kahzlt. Come, I have a surprise for you. Hope you're not afraid of heights."

In one windy swoop, Kahzlt takes your shoulders in his claws, lifts you off of the ground and flies you out of the tower window. As the desiccated shapes of Shadow Phyrra pass beneath, you feel yourself growing sleepy, despite the wind and adrenaline. Your lids grow heavy and close.

You open your eyes to find yourself gliding over a vast jungle. The canopy of treetops spreads as far as you can see, broken occasionally by the long gray necks of massive animals. You see the top of an enormous golden stepped pyramid rising from the treetops. With a rush of wind, Kahzlt swoops lower and deposits you, gently, on the pyramids top, amid a group of figures.

You take a moment to catch your breath, which is promptly knocked out of you by a rough bear hug and you find yourself staring into Trublade's grinning face.

"Am I glad to see you! Now that you're here this really is the dream world!"

An uncomfortable silence later and you have disengaged yourself from the detective. Amid a group of Orzayan Dream Warriors, you see Zang the slayer bobbing happily in the air, Embergeist, standing at attention, Edgar Crawls, looking irritated by the sunlight and fresh air, and Grol Flamhammer, sniffing the air and attempting not to seem impressed by any of this. Kahzlt approaches.

[edit] Act 3 - Dream Warriors

Before you can strike your final blow, Embergeist waves his arm, opening a dark portal beside him. He grabs Trublade who responds by making a sound that can only be described as a 'squeak' and dives through the portal just before it snaps shut. Zang slashes at the air where the portal was moment before.

"Come back here, you lily-livered scoundrel! I challenge you!" With touching disregard for his personal safety, Kahztl approaches the swinging blade and places a gentle claw on his hilt.

"Calm yourself, noble blade. But your friend's future is regrettably sealed. By the time we reach him, whatever purpose the Shadow has planned for him will have passed and there is still much we must do. As you see, the Shadow is already recruiting. They are attempting to push their twisted version of your City of Duels into your reality. To do this, they need souls and they need Shadows. The more of them we destroy, the further that dark metropolis will be pushed back to where it belongs. That is why we have called you here. We are asking you to join the Army of Dreams. Once anointed, you can destroy the agents of Shadow and put an end to their bilious campaign." Kahztl touches you on your forehead and you feel a surge of energy.

"The power of dreams will prevail. Now, go. Hunt the Shadow wherever it hides."
