While many of the elven folk have passed into the Shining Realms, a few remnants of this ancient race still inhabit the world of Makanis. The musical abilities of the Elf culture are unparalleled in the known universe, and some say their songs bring mysterious abilities to play in battle.

"While not as sophisticated as their eastern High Elven brethren, the Silvintri, the Nir Gostians have remained unconquered by man or orc. The Kingdom of Gostia spent 15 futile years trying to subdue them. The Machanites spent five bloody years in fruitless battle against them. The Karthian Orcs were utterly destroyed in their attempt to expand into Nir Gostia. No wonder the Nir Gostians have the reputation as being the most accomplished fighters in the world. To own a piece of their armory is bragging rights indeed."

"The Silvintri are considered to be the most "civilized" of all the elven folk. They are the "High Elven" whose ancient court rivals both the Machanites and Aseti in sophistication and beauty. The Silvintri acknowledge Aseti rule over their lands but only as a protectorate and enjoy considerable freedom to conduct their own governing--this being the reward for joining the Grand Alliance that destroyed Lord Draeth and his Demon Army."

"The warriors of Norathii are said to be related to the Elven folk--to the Nir Gostians according to the Elven Book of the First Dawn--and share many of the physical attributes of the Elves. First and foremost, they are masters of stealth and forest lore. Their armor and weapons are light in weight but superbly crafted and incredibly durable. Like their distant Nir Gostian relatives, they have never been conquered--by man or orc."

"Bordered by Nir Gostia to the north, by the Talas Mountains to the east, and by Benecia to the west and south, Aanden is a land of ancient forests--deep, dark, and full of mystery. The elven inhabitants of this small wilderness kingdom have the reputation of being the best forest scouts and rangers in the land. They have a hereditary hatred of orcs - and the orcs have learned to fear the Aanden and their deadly weapons."
