[edit] Quest Text

After losing a duel in the arena in the heat of the day, you feel the need for some food. You head towards the Market and, upon entering the area, you smell something delightful. You go to find out what the interesting smell is when you stumble upon a cat vendor selling some sort of barbecue meat on a stick.

Lose to Boldon The Maddening

[edit] Act 1 - Price of Good Food

You ask him what it is and he gives you a strange look and replies, "The ahkah-hakah meat is a specialty created by my family. Would you like some?"

You nod. "That will be 100 gold." You receive some of the delightful food, and bite into it. Immediately, you are hooked by the wonderful taste of this meat on a stick and must have more. You ask him if he has anymore.

He shrugs and says, "Unfortunately that was my last batch until my suppliers sell me more. I can tell you where to find some if you buy another shipment early. If you buy the seven ingredients, I will make you another round for free!" Excited, you look at him and tell him you will do the job. He tells you the name and location of the three merchants. He also mentions you may want to go armed; they are a bit shady of sorts and often get into trouble. You head off in the direction of the first merchant. He is behind a house in a back alley near the Phyrran Docks. As you’re heading down the back alley, you hear some voices and then one of the voices begins to yell. You head right into this conflict only to get involved in the argument. A fight breaks out as one guy believes you are a hired hand sent to beat him up.

[edit] Act 2 - Returning the Favor

The merchant is thankful that you saved his life. "What can I do to repay you?" All you ask for some ingredients for ahkah-hakah meat.

You show him the list. "Ah, I see you want some chipmunk legs and eye of basilisk. Well here you go, thanks again for taking out those thugs. Oh yeah, tell Haja another shipment will be sent out as soon as I receive some more." You begin to head towards the second merchant who is down by the Shady Hideout. The instructions say to go to the Phyrran Docks and find the bell on the pier. You are to ring it once and a man will appear. He will take you to the merchant. You do exactly as it instructs and soon you are approached by an old man who wants you to follow him.

As you are following the old man, a thug comes running through the alleyway and knocks down the old man while stealing his pouch. The old man yells, ”Come back here with my pouch, I need my …" He faints.

You chase after the thug who stole the old man’s pouch. The chase lasts for a few minutes until he runs down the wrong alley into a dead end. He sees that you have cornered him and is ready to fight! He throws the pouch down behind him and says, Sorry about the old man, he just got in my way so I knocked his feet out and stole his bag. If you want it, you have to show me you can use that weapon of yours! That is what I really want. He smiles as though he has had that planned from the start and the old man’s pouch just lured you into his trap.

Just A Decoy

[edit] Act 3 - Pouch Retrieval

You defeat the pouch-stealing decoy to retrieve the old man's belongings. On the way back, you find the old man sitting on the road where he had been knocked down and you give him back his pouch. Another man behind the old man speaks up, "Thank you so much for saving my father. I don't know what we would have done without his medicines. They are very hard to come by lately. I have him bring the customers to our hidden shop. I should get another delivery man, but he insists on helping me. So what is it that you needed?" You show him the list and he glances over all the ingredients.

He looks up and laughs with a chuckle, "I guess you will be needing these. Don’t worry about paying me, I’m just glad my father is safe and had his medicine returned to him." He hands you Brimstone Flakes, Water Serpent Scales, and Horned Beetle Shell.

You thank him for the ingredients and begin making your way towards the last merchant on the list. The instructions say to go to the Merchant's Row and find the green stand with the flowers for sale. You do as the instructions say and find yourself standing in front of a vibrant green flower stand. The merchant suddenly appears behind you. "Hello there, can I help you?"

You show her the list and she responds,"Well, if you are wanting those ingredients, you will have to duel me and win. I've seen you in the arena and know your skill. You tell her that she is no match for you, she isn't even a duelist. "I don't want to hear any excuses when you lose." You shrug your shoulders and tell her that you will duel.

Dueling the Flower Fighter

[edit] Act 4 - Last Merchant

She winks at you, "It's okay, I challenge all the duelists who come my way. These poor saps don't realize I used to be a duelist champion long long ago. I've since retired and have fun messing with the new generation of duelists. It teaches them a valuable lesson, never underestimate your opponent even if she seems a bit caught up in the flowers!"

"I feel bad for telling you that you had to win, when there really was no way you were going to. Let me see that list of what you need again, I forgot already." She hands you the last two ingredients: black lily stems and snow cactus quills.

"Now if you ever need to duel again, just come on by, I'll be here! She waves as you walk back to the food merchant.

[edit] Conclusion

You return to the food merchant with the seven ingredients. He looks over the quality of them and then looks at you. "It appears Deana got the better of you. She sure is a wildfire. I hope she didn't burn you too bad. By the way, thank you for the ingredients, I will make some more of my ahkah-hakah meat just for you!"
